Projet Griffintown

Montréal’s best place to live, work and play

Founded on the best urban practices in North America and Europe and from a process of consultation with the City of Montréal, the Southwest borough and the stakeholders, the Griffintown Project is far more than a housing project. This is a major revitalisation of an entire sector of Griffintown, a disused industrial sector rich in history and with tremendous potential.

Representing an investment of 1.3 billion dollars, the project is part of Le Havre, one of three major projects identified by the Mayor of Montréal as part of the Montréal 2025 vision, the other two being Quartier des Spectacles and Montréal Technopole.

« The Griffintown Project is the only private project of more than one billion dollars currently under discussion and consultation on city’s territory. This investment, funded entirely with Quebec funds, attests to the confidence that investors have when it comes to the economic future of Montréal. Thanks to the initiative and creativity of Québec developers and investors, the implementation of the Griffintown Project will contribute to the transformation of Havre, one of the three major projects in Montréal, along with the Arts and Entertainment District and Montréal Technopole, the vast economic initiative of the City. ».
Gérald Tremblay, Mayor of Montréal

« This project offers very significant economic benefits for the Southwest borough, where some 3900 new households will settle on a single site in Griffintown. This project alone will generate more than 10,000 jobs during construction and 4330 jobs in the future. We are now reaping the fruits of all the efforts and all the investments created by the reopening of the Lachine Canal in early 2000. ».
Jacqueline Montpetit, Mayor of the Southwest borough

« The interest shown by private investors for the realization of large-scale projects, such as Devimco in Griffintown, is good news: it is the raw material from which we will be able to realize the revitalisation in this sector of the city." ».
Isabelle Hudon, President of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal and the Société de Havre

« This project is a boost for our community. We must not miss this opportunity for urban regeneration that will undoubtedly bring great benefits for our citizens and our businesses ».
Daniel L’Africain and Paul Forgues, Co-Presidents of the Southwest Board of Trade and Industry

The project is part of Le Havre, one of three major projects identified by the Mayor of Montreal as part of the Montreal 2025 vision, the other two being Quartier des Spectacles and Montreal Technopole.
