Working in Griffintown
The construction and operation of the Griffintown Project will make an outstanding contribution to the economic vitality of the metropolitan area. In fact, jobs generated during construction will represent 10,250 person-years, while the operating phase project will create 4330 jobs.
Some jobs will be created in shops, restaurants, hotels, other cultural and tourist facilities, and offices. The promoter and RESO have agreed to seek the best impact on the creation and preservation of jobs. They have created a business relocation committee to promote expansion and job creation, in close collaboration with the Southwest borough. They will also develop a workforce training strategy to encourage local hiring.
In addition, the new office space planned by Devimco will integrate smoothly, its architecture respecting the rich history of Griffintown. The construction of office space near residential blocks will also promote sustainable development since workers will settle within walking distance of their workplace.
