Playing in Griffintown

The Griffintown Project holds a privileged space for entertainment with the construction of a culture and heritage centre, a cinema complex and two hotels. Montréalers and tourists can walk in the streets, frequent restaurants and have better access to the Lachine Canal. In addition, the creation of 5000 paid underground parking spaces will accommodate visitors in the best possible manner without damaging the area’s visual harmony.

Culture and heritage centre
A cultural, historical, heritage and tourism block located along the Bonaventure Expressway and the Lachine Canal, will serve the specific cultural needs of the Southwest borough. It can be used for a variety of events such as exhibitions, highlighting Griffintown's history and the Lachine Canal, lectures and other festivities.

On the other hand, the Lachine Canal and Peel Basin approaches will be highlighted by integrating them with the urban fabric, via the extension of Mountain Street, the construction of walkways and the creation of visual openings.

The project is part of Le Havre, one of three major projects identified by the Mayor of Montreal as part of the Montreal 2025 vision, the other two being Quartier des Spectacles and Montreal Technopole.
